Nice vintage box set of the Lord of the Rings trilogy in high-grade collectible condition. Condition: NEAR FINE SET INFO Published in 1987 by Houghton Mifflin in Boston, Massachusetts. Second American edition, later printing. Bound in original cloth covered boards with the One Ring and the Eye of Sauron in gold and copper on front covers. With original dust jackets and the beautifully illustrated box. Octavos. Complete, including a fold-out map at the end of each novel. CONDITION REPORT The books are in NEAR FINE condition. Foxing to page edges else FINE. Tightly bound, clean, sharp corners, minimal edge rubbing. Interiors are clean and bright with white pages. The dust jackets are NEAR FINE. Light rubbing and scratching and some crinkling along edges else FINE. The slipcase is also NEAR FINE with minor rubbing and wear. All in all, a beautiful collectible set in high-grade condition.
