NOT a book club version but a stated first printing (with the print code "W") of the Revised or Second Edition of the three-book 'The Lord of the Rings' box set (1967). Consistent with the foregoing, the front flap of all three dust jackets has "$6.00" in the upper corner and "0267" in the lower corner. The contents of all three books (including an As New folded map in the rear of each of the books) are mark-free, complete, and securely bound. Black cloth boards with gilt spine lettering and on the upper board, a decoration uniform in design but with different coloring. Similarly, each book has different coloring on the pages' top edge. The boards to the first two books have bumped corners and some dust staining or fading in areas where the dust jacket is chipped. The boards to the third book, "The Return of the King", are Fine. The dust jackets on the first two books are Fair and Good respectively with multiple chips and/or tears and spine labels that are so faded as to be illegible. Aside from a small chip at the head of the spine and a touch of rubbing in the extremities, the dust jacket to "The Return of the King" is Fine. Also included is a slipcase that has some scuffing, particularly on the bottom panel but with a title label on one panel that is Very Good despite a few small edge nicks. No remainder or ex-library markings! **Extra charges, if requested, will have to be approved by the Buyer before Seller will accept an order requesting international shipping because of the size and weight of this book set.
