The Lord of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Readers union edition, published in 1960. An uncommon and early edition with approximately 3000 copies produced. Unique dust jacket design, brown cloth effect boards, and brown top edges, fold out maps at the back. Unclipped dust jackets are tanned and foxed to the spines, plus chipping and a couple of tears to the spine ends, a few scratches, chips, and spots elsewhere, now in smart removable protective wrappers. Brown cloth effect boards are generally tidy, a few minor bumps to the edges, bright gilt lettering to the spines, square, securely bound. Page edges, endpapers, and margins are foxed, heavy to the endpapers, no inscriptions, slight musty odour, complete with fold out maps at the back. Good minus condition.
