Readers Union edition, published in 1960.

No dust jackets. Brown cloth covers with some marks, a little fading to the spines, plus fading to the lower cover of the Fellowship, bright gilt lettering to the spines, tan dyed top edges. Some bruising to the spine ends and fore edge corners, cocked spines, securely bound, there is a section of pages in each book with indented top corners from a previous bump, one page in the Two Towers with a short closed tear, plus a few pages in the Two Towers where adhesive has slightly seeped into the inner margin, presumably when originally bound. Pages otherwise clean and tidy, complete with fold out maps at the end of each volume. No inscriptions. Good condition.
