All three volumes in this three volume set are in fine condition in brown cloth covered boards with bold gilt text on the spines and copper colored metallic emblems on the front boards. Each volume is an octavo measuring 8 3/4 by 5 5/8 inches. The dust jackets for each volume are in fine condition with the prices remaining on the front flaps. The set is contained within a fine, printed, paper covered slipcase. Volume I is The Fellowship of the Ring and contains 423 pages followed by a fold-out map Eriador, Gondor, Rhovanion and Mordor. Volume II is The Two Towers and contains 352 pages followed by a fold-out map. Volume III is The Return of the King containing 440 pages including an index followed by a fold-out map. An extremely fine set which originally sold for $65.00. There are no prior ownership markings of any kind in any of the volumes.

And all the while the armies of the Dark Lord are massing as the One Ring draws ever nearer to the Cracks of Doom.

J.R.R. Tolkien (1892–1973) was a distinguished academic, though he is best known for writing The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, plus other stories and essays. His books have been translated into over sixty languages and have sold many millions of copies worldwide.

Delivery within the US: $16.00 for Priority delivery for 1st book $5.00 for each book thereafter. $5.00 for Book Rate (Media Mail) for the first book and $2.00 for each additional book.
Canadian or Overseas Deliveries will be at cost. Connecticut residents please add 6.35% state sales tax.
