Jacket edges rubbed with minor loss from corners, jacket spines a bit faded, a couple minor blemishes to slipcase. Bindings tight and square, pages clean, bright, and unmarked. 1965 Hard Cover. Complete in three volumes with publisher's slipcase. 423; 352; 440 pp. 8vo. 9 x 6. The fold-out maps included after the text of each volume make this a desirable edition of Tolkien's masterwork. Each jacket bears the familiar emblem of the One Ring and Sauron's eye surrounded by elven runic writing on the front panel and the spine, with a separate color for each volume which matches the top-stain color of each. Robert Quackenbush jacket art.
