The Fellowship of the Ring:- a fifteenth impression from 1966, The Two Towers is a second edition, fourth impression from 1969, and The Return of the King is an eleventh impression from 1965. All three books are in the original red cloth and in very good condition, complete with folding maps to the rear pastedown. The Two Towers is completely clean, while the other two volumes have neat ownership inscriptions to the FEP. All have their original dust jackets, only the Fellowship has been price-clipped. All the dust jackets are in very good condition; The Fellowship has been protected by a transparent sleeve, while the other two volumes have been preserved by a continuous adhesive strip which has prevented foxing or undue wear. All jackets are graded overall Very Good. The Return of the King has a little wear to the top edge. Altogether a fine set of the Classic Trilogy, bought and read by a student of Magdalene College, Oxford in the sixties when Professor Tolkien was still on the staff.
