The Lords of Powder: A Miami Fantasy: 2 (Lords of History)

When is it criminal to be a magician?

Bradan has been many things in his fifteen centuries of life: smuggler, scholar, and sorcerer. In 1978 Miami, he's something far more dangerous - an immortal with expensive tastes and no clean way to pay for them.

So Bradan uses enchantment to build a smuggling ring to move contraband into Florida. It works - to well. Soon he's on the radar of cartels, narcotics detectives, and forces older than Miami itself.

As violence escalates and cocaine sharpens his power and paranoia, Bradan realizes that magic doesn't make him untouchable. It makes him vulnerable. And in a city built on criminality, vulnerability is death.

THE LORDS OF POWDER is a dark, contemporary fantasy blending noir crime, mythic magic, and relentless momentum.. It's a story of greed and the costs of survival to one magician's soul.

Readers praise the novel's sharp dialogue, fast pace, and conflicted characters. THE LORDS OF POWDER is part of an exciting contemporary fantasy series, but each book reads well as a stand-alone.

As one reviewer stated: “This was very good. Very good dialog and entertaining plot. The author has obvious talent, and I'll check out his other books. I hope he has more for us.”
