About the Author
Robin Conrad Sturm began her ballet training at the Washington School of the Ballet and is a graduate of the Academy of the Washington School of the Ballet. She was a principal dancer with the Washington Ballet, of which she was a founding member. As a principal dancer with the Washington Ballet, Ms. Sturm originated many lead roles and performed principal roles in the company's repertoire. She also appeared as a soloist dancer with her late husband, Robert, in Jerome Hines's opera, "I Am the Way," at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
Ms. Sturm's experience in the world of ballet as a dancer and teacher and working with children for the majority of her adult life as well as working for several years in a preschool is what inspired her writing of her children's books. Her writing ranges from her children's books to non-fiction books that bring hope and encouragement to adults as well as children. She also writes a blog on dancergracenotes.blog.
Ms. Sturm is a recipient of Prince William Living's Most Influential Women Award of 2020. She has also received Insidenova's Best of Prince William Award as Best Author of 2018
