Kuhn compares Christian orthodoxy with the Greek philosophers and illustrates the similarities and differences them. According to the author, much of the meaning of crucial Christian terminology derives from Greek Platonic, Pythagorean, Orphic and Neo-Platonic philosophies, and behind these the more ancient wisdom-knowledge of the Egyptians, who bore the bright torch of religious light from remote times.
