The Lost King of Oz

This is a first edition of The Lost King of Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson, Reilly & Lee. Because it has all twelve colored plates (see pictures), it stands out as one of the earliest printings of the book. However, it is not of the most early run of this book. Page 234 and the colored plate after page 238 feature small rectangular areas of a darkened color indicating some sort of repair by a previous owner. The plate after 238 has several adhesive strips keeping the image on the colored plate together. The top seraph of k is missing on page 193, line four. Page 13/14 (page one of the narrative) is loose in the binding. All other pages are attached. The cover has a number of scuffs, as does the back. The spine is ruffled along the edges, it should be handled with care; several fibers visible. There are a few very minor smudges, and there is an inscription from a previous owner, as well as a pencil note indicating this volume includes 12 colored plates.
