The Lost Ritual: The Retranslated Bonseigneur Rituals

‘The Lost Ritual: The Retranslated Bonseigneur Rituals’ is a very rare, early collection of 18th-century French (West Indies) Masonic rituals, meticulously retranslated by Josef Wäges to offer an accurate understanding and appreciation of them. They are the source of later French-inspired rituals, from Étienne Morin to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The ground-breaking Introduction examines the role of these rituals, why they found their way to Louisiana, and the answers they give to all Freemasonry. The work explores the development of early Louisiana Masonry and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The rituals are offered as photographic reproductions, French transcriptions, and English translations. This 540-page, large-format collection is a valuable resource for the study of early Masonic rituals. Translation and Introduction by Josef Wäges, Foreword by Michael R. Poll.
