Louis Riel Manitoban 1844-1885

1971. (Staplebound) Near fine. 11pp. Photographs. "The monument to Louis Riel on the grounds of the Manitoba Legislative Building is the work of two artists, architect Etienne J. Gaboury, and Sculptor Marcien LeMay. The two half cylindrical shells are fifteen feet in diameter and thirty feet high, and are placed in juxtaposition to each other forming a near perfect circle. The architect has attempted to achieve a feeling of both unity and separateness to create a tension appropriate to the conflicts and dichotomy of Riel's life".
