In fair condition. Spine is slanted, causing binding to me shaken. Covers are typically worn with darkened discoloration from surface dirt. Spine has lighter discoloration from sun exposure. End papers are toned. Previous owner s name on front end page. Text block is toned, but legible. Light tan colored staining on back end papers. Please see photos. Second English edition- The translator, Ernest Alfred Vizetelly, was the son of the publisher Henry Vizetelly, who in 1888 was prosecuted for obscene libel for his translation of Zola s La Terra. Henry Vizetelly issued several translations of French and Russian author s, and Ernest s translations of Zola were based on his father s work. COLL1894ABCA-variant.
