Hugh relishes Micaela's barbed comments until he overhears a conversation leading him to believe she is out to trap him into marriage to protect her family. Stunned by his sudden coldness, Micaela believes Hugh has been toying with her to embarrass her family. An accident forces the two to seek shelter and leads to the compromising situation each tried to avoid.
