First American edition, first printing. [viii], 304 pp. Bound in publisher's tan cloth-affect paper-covered boards stamped in gilt and green on spine, green topstain. Near Fine with slight lean to binding and several small protrusions to front pastedown, likely from binder's error. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with light wear and toning, faint dampstaining to spine panel visible on verso. The first American edition of Nancy Mitford's biting comedy of manners, the basis for the popular BBC miniseries starring Rosamund Pike.
