A Love to Live By: Rediscovering Agape Love in Scripture

Love one another—the resurrection of an old truth

Love one another. These three simple, yet weighty, words are not old advice or an old suggestion. They’re a command, a directive, an authoritative word to be obeyed and put into practice. The ancient commandment to love one another still matters in the ongoing drama of redemption. Yet, divisions and disunity show us that it’s not that simple . . . or easy.

We focus a lot on the love of God—as we should. But His love isn’t always realized in our relationships with one another. A Love to Live By roots the rationale for mutual love deeply in the Scriptures and provides a robust biblical grounding for the why of mutual agape love in the church. With depth and warmth, Dr. Winfred Neely also shares examples of mutual agape love, providing readers with imaginative ideas about what the practice of mutual love could look like in their context and sphere of influence.

Ministry leaders, pastors, educational leaders, and anyone who wants to understand the biblical grounding of what it means to love—and who wants to grow in Christian love—will be equipped and encouraged by A Love to Live By.
