Tom Holt was born in London and produced his first book at the age of thirteen. He is the author of two continuations of E.F. Benson's Mapp and Lucia series: Lucia in Wartime and Lucia Triumphant. Holt is the author of the science fiction books Expecting Someone Taller, Who's Afraid of Beowulf, and Flying Dutch. He lives in Somerset, England.
