About the Author

From a young age the author enjoyed traveling with his family on the Eastern coast of the United States and at fifteen went on a tour with the Foreign Study League to Spain, France, Switzerland, England and Ireland. At twenty-three when the opportunity arose to visit a friend in South America, to him a dark and mysterious unknown continent, Mr. Charbonneau grasped the opportunity and traveled to Ecuador where he fell in love and married. These seemingly innocuous events set the stage for a true story about a man and his dream, a treasure, political turmoil, coup d'etats, romance, deceit, embezzlement, theft, smuggling, espionage, kidnapping, murder and betrayal. Mr. Charbonneau was married for nearly thirty years and is the proud parent of five. With the traveling spirit still cursing through his veins Mr. Charbonneau's time is divided between Vermont, Nevada and Florida.
