Luther's Hermeneutic of the Scriptures Alone for the 21st Century (Paperback)

Paperback. Luther's Hermeneutic of the Scriptures Alone for the 21st Century: How the Son of God, the Word Who Became Flesh, Recreates Human Hearts and Minds in Real Time Abstract. The Lutheran School of Theology in Kenya presents the first book in its Out of Africa Series. This Lutheran book is not just for Lutherans, but for people of all Christian denominations--and anyone who is skeptical about the Bible. A textbook that reads much like a thrilling novel about the divine gift of language, Luther's Hermeneutic of the Scriptures Alone for the 21st Century ranges from the creation by God's Word in the beginning to our century of postmodernism and this after-word world in which we live. With the mind of a philosopher and the heart of a pastor, it tells the story of the divine gift of language and thoroughly explains the usefulness and worth of Luther's "hermeneutic" of sola Scriptura, that is, the interpretation of life and the words of the Bible because of Christ the Messiah who is "the wording Word." A personal Preface, four engaging chapters, a crystal clear glossary, pages of teaching applications for use in the classroom or in book clubs, and several intriguing appendices from theology, philosophy, and literature to spark your own thinking--all in support of the thesis that God recreates our hearts and minds via His Scriptures alone in real time. You will have firsthand experience of God's very words and will join with King David and God's people today, praying and teaching others to pray, By a special arrangement with Lutheran News Publishing, Luther' Hermeneutic is available as a copyrighted free PDF to seminaries and schools of theology with permission to print copies for students and professors, and to interested readers of all kinds, such as pastors or parishioners.
