Add to basketA charming fourteen volume library set of the works of Lord Lytton, including titles such as 'The Coming Race', 'Kennelm Chillingly' and 'The Disowned'. Edward Bulwer Lytton (1803-1873) was an immensely popular Victorian novelist, who coined the phrases "the pen is mightier than the sword" and "the great unwashed". He was a prolific novelist, a playwright and politician who turned down a lordship of the admiralty because he thought it might interfere with his writing. This set is incomplete at fourteen volumes. Most of the volumes contain more than one work. The following titles are present: My Novel What Will He Do With It? A Strange Story The Coming Race Kennelm Chillingly The Disowned Devereux Paul Clifford Eugene Aram The Last Days of Pompeii Rienzi Pilgrims of the Rhine Ernest Maltravers Alice Night and Morning Zanoni The Last of the Barons Lucretia Pelham Harold, or The Last of the Saxon Kings The Parisians In full calf binding, with gilt detailing. Externally, smart. There is some wear to the extremities including some rubbing. There are school bookplates on the front pastedown of each volume and a cardboard ticket sleeve but no stamps which could be removed with care. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean and bright. Very Good.
