Two quarto volumes (6�x9� in/24 cm) of 'HUGO'S WORKS' [spine titles] bound in three-quarter leather and marbled boards, smooth burgundy calf with bright gold titles and elaborate decorations on the spines which are a contrasting natural calfskin tan; marbled end-papers and page edges; with 140 illustrations from designs by D. Vierge and G. Rochegrosse. Interiors are very clean, no marks, no names nor bookplates; bindings are tight; some scuffing and light wear along cover edges and at corners. Overall a Good+ two-volume leather-bound set of Hugo's famous dramatic novel.
