xxiii+358, all edges marbled; foxing to inner sides of endpapers and end blank fly leaves, fairly heavy but diminishing rapidly to virtually disappear about six leaves in from either end, with only the odd spot occ.elsewhere, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. Covers half gilt-dec.leather and marbled boards with paneled sp., minimally worn bar sl.edge rubbing and minor trace of surface rubbing to fr., clean, bright and fresh otherwise. Binding date unclear, but endpaper marbling matches cover marbling and endpapers foxed internally as noted, so presumably not recent. Bray's position was a fairly hard-line materialist or positivist pro-evolution one.
