L'autore descrive le parti della pianta, gli attrezzi e utensili necessari, la terra adatta, il metodo per la seminazione, propagazione, la coltivazione delle piante in vaso, le piante nelle abitazioni, la coltivazione in balcone, nelle serre, le piante per aiuole, la divisione e descrizione delle piante in base alla fioritura, alle foglie, abbinamento nelle aiuole, decorazione di giardino ecc. All'interno sono presenti 88 incisioni e 56 tavole in bianco e nero che mostrano specie di fiori. In discrete condizioni Copertina in tela editoriale in discrete condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini. Dorso quasi del tutto staccato. Legatura in buone condizioni.
