El suicidio de la joven Midori deja trastornado a su padre, el se�or Nagara, un rico empresario japon�s que no puede resignarse a la p�rdida de su hija y busca ciegamente una venganza. Tambi�n a David, su novio, un catal�n que regenta en Tokio una tienda de vinos y que es incapaz de olvidarla. Tal vez para superar su angustia, David inicia una relaci�n con Ryu, una chica solitaria y enigm�tica que aparece en su tienda y con la que empieza repitiendo los paseos y los rituales de su antigua novia, para acabar entregado a una pasi�n sexual desesperada. El testigo, y narrador, de esa peculiar historia de amor es un ingeniero seducido tambi�n por Ryu y obsesionado en grabar los sonidos que la envuelven en las m�s diversos escenarios, desde Tsujiki, la bulliciosa lonja de pescado de Tokio donde trabaja por las noches, hasta los cementerios que le gusta visitar los domingos. Tanto �l como David ignoran, sin embargo, que Ryu tiene otra ocupaci�n ocasional de la que no les habla: la de asesina a sueldo.

About the Author

Isabel Coixet (Barcelona, 1962) se licencio en historia por la Universidad de Barcelona. Antes de convertirse en cineasta, trabajo como periodista en la revista Fotogramas. A su primer largometraje, Demasiado viejo para morir joven (1988), siguieron Cosas que nunca te dije (1996), A los que aman (1998), Mi vida sin mi (2003), La vida secreta de las palabras (2005), Elegy (2008), adaptacion de El animal moribundo de Philip Roth, y Mapa de los sonidos de Tokio (2009), estrenada en la seccion oficial del Festival de Cannes 2009, ganadora del Premio al Mejor Sonido y ya vendida a varios paises. Coixet ha logrado con su filmografia, aparte de varios premios y una creciente proyeccion internacional, consolidar su prestigio como autora, due�a de un inconfundible universo personal. El libro que el lector tiene en sus manos surge del guion de la pelicula del mismo titulo, y nos ofrece un relato vibrante e inteligentisimo de las vidas entrecruzadas de varios personajes, que nos habla, a la vez, de la soledad, la melancolia, la pasion y el dolor en la ciudad ultramoderna por antonomasia.

Los Peque�os Seres is an independent and truly unique bookstore located in the historic antiques district of El Rastro, in Madrid, Spain. We specialize in literature and essays. We offer both new and second-hand books. Our collection includes some rare and out-of-print titles. We also host a busy cultural calendar, making us a must-visit spot on the city's bookstore circuit.

Shipping Terms

Payment by Bank Card. Unless expressly indicated otherwise, the unavailability of a particular book does not cancel the rest of the order.
Shipping costs are calculated for a single book weighing up to 1 kilogram and of small size within mainland Spain. For other weights, sizes, or destinations, the customer will be contacted and may accept or reject any additional charges.

Shipments within mainland Spain will be delivered to the customer's address. Economy orders that fit into a mailbox may be sent as standard mail without a tracking number.
Express shipping will always be sent as certified mail with home delivery. For other destinations, please inquire.

If you wish to return a delivered item, the refund will be issued once the package has been returned to the bookstore by the shipping company. For any other arrangements, please contact the bookstore during business hours or via email.
