About the Author

Joseph Roth naci� en la provincia austr�aca de Galitzia en 1894, de padres jud�os. Estudi� literatura y filosof�a en Lemberg y en Viena. Tras servir en la Primera Guerra Mundial, trabaj� como periodista, alcanz� un notable �xito con su escritura, y es considerado uno de los grandes autores en lengua alemana. Muri� exiliado en Par�s en 1939.
