96 pages, 109 color photographs. A superb collection of rare and important examples of North American Indian art, acquired since 1987 in an almost unprecedented display of connoisseurship by famed old master art dealer E.V. Thaw, was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Thaw to the Fenimore House Museum of the New York State Historical Association. 100 of the collection's finest works--embracing almost every area and group of Native North America--are presented in exquisite, large color photographs, accompanied by each piece's exhibition, ownership and acquisition (individual, institution, dealer, or auction) history.
