Together 22 volumes; various pagination; numerous wood-engravings, photographs and other forms of illustration (many hand-tipped, some folding, some coloured), including printing and paper samples and several signed engravings, etchings, mezzotint, linocut and silk screen illustrations; impl. 8vo; pictorial stiff paper wrappers, fore-corners of four volumes slightly bumped; dust wrappers, one with a very small split at lower edge of back panel; Whittington Press, Andover, Hants., 1985-2001. First trade editions (except for Volume 1 which is reprinted), with editions varying between 450 and 880 copies. *With several loose insertions and prospectus for numbers 7, 11, 17 and 20. One of the most influential periodicals devoted to mainly 20th century book arts, with articles covering many of the major private presses (including some bibliographies), printers, and typographers, designers and illustrators.
