MCSE Training Kit Upgrading to Microsoft Windows 2000: MCSE Training for Exam 70-222 (IT Professional)

Assuming you're familiar with Windows NT 4 (particularly how it implements TCP/IP, DHCP, and users), this book/CD-ROM package competently explains the differences between NT and 2000. Plus it shows how to do an upgrade with the least possible fuss, taking advantage of Windows 2000's new features along the way. Organized as a series of lessons, it reads much like the abstract from a hands-on seminar. Each lesson begins with a concise summary of some aspect of Windows 2000 (Active Directory permissions, network installation, etc.) from a high level. The lessons then grow more focused, touching on the tools pertinent to the topic before detailing the procedures to follow for specific effects. The authors--a team of Microsoft writers--succeed in communicating the conceptual knowledge and practical familiarity that are both vital to passing the MCP exam. --David Wall
