Both volumes supple and tight; Maps are large & folding printed in black and white. A remarkably clean 1844 first edition quite scarce in today's market The US map measures 17"x 22". Republic of Texas, (pp. 913-916) contains an article on the "new and independent republic" of Texas, with information drawn from William Kennedy and Arthur Ikin, but seasoned with the editor's caution that some claims about Texas may be exaggerated.
