[4], 80 pages plus covers. Staple-bound oblong paperback: H 22.75cm x L 30.5cm. Pictorial front cover in green, black, and red; undecorated green spine and rear cover. Large loss to front cover's bottom right with tear and small loss at bottom right/spine heel; glue repair to tearing at front cover's top left and spine head; some toning and discolored patch to rear cover. Light toning/soiling to text block edges. Mostly light foxing and soiling to interior leaves. Staples rusted but binding remains firm. Initial four unnumbered pages have: [page 1] "Certificate of Enrollment United States Civilian Conservation Corps" with handwritten form entries for enrollee "Edward Warnick" (service dates blank) as a member of Company No. "470" and Camp "Ga. P-67" but without commanding officer signature; [pages 2-3] "My Service Record in the C.C.C." without markings; and [page 4] "Autographs" which has eight inscriptions in ink and pencil from Warnick's "tent buddies." Obtrusive pencil scrawled note (by Warnick??) across Index's page 80 pleading for a maternal wake-up; approximately sixty pencil checkmarks beside names (presumably friends of owner Warnick who is a listed member) on pages 30-31 which feature roster and group photos of Company #470; no other markings readily apparent upon a cursory perusal. Numerous b/w photographs throughout showing District officers, group camp photos, photomontages of camp members at work and play. Total of nineteen camps reviewed starting with Supply Company-Fort Benning, Georgia on pages 4-7 followed by fourteen "White" camps {Company #1419-Carrabelle, FL; Company #1417-Bloxham, FL; Company #1439-Villas, FL; Company #298-Villas, FL; Company #1410-Shady Grove, FL; Company #470-Brinson, GA; Company #295-Sumatra, FL; Company #1414-Soperton, GA; Company #1424-Baxley, GA; Company #1449-Butler, GA; Company #1450-Douglas, GA; Company #1429-Warm Springs, GA; Company #1411-Albany, GA; Company #2419-McRae, GA} plus four African-American segregated camps {Company #1432-Clayton, AL; Company #2401-Telogia, FL; and Companies 1433 and 416 at Fort Benning, GA} are isolated to the book's concluding leaves. Personnel rosters provided for all nineteen companies with fourteen citing the enrollee's hometown (the exceptions being Supply Company, #1450, #1411, #2419, and #2401); most enrollees were from the same state as their camp but curiously #298 was mostly comprised of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans. Other than the Supply Company which has only forty names, the other eighteen camps have upwards of 170-200 members each so that the cumulative total easily exceeds 3000 (unfortunately the aforementioned Index lists companies only, i.e. a comprehensive name index is not included). District CCC camp books are all quite uncommon but evidently this District H edition is exceptionally scarce as OCLC does not locate any copies held by a member institution.
