143 pp., 33 figs ( inc.3 pp. of plates ex-pagination); internally excellent being clean, tight &unmarked bar a very faint small brown spot on t.p. Green cloth covers clean and minimally worn but sunfaded to extremities and part of top edge where exposed by jacket; jacket unclipped, a little ragged and grubby to back but basically sound (will seal in prot. wrapper when ordered). Originally delivered as the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures 1948-1949. Apparently becoming quite scarce.
