This book is a history of Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Originally French controlled, the opening of a lead mine in 1827 led to American control. It was later found to have a lode of zinc as well. The book also discusses the effect on the area of the Civil War, the Indian Wars, the Great Depression, and the railroads. Included are photographs, maps, a chronology, chapter notes, and a bibliography. This HARDCOVER copy is clean and solid. The front endpapers serve as a map.
