Si innamorano e la loro sarebbe una storia come tante, se la guerra non sparigliasse le carte: lui dopo l'8 Settembre sceglie la Resistenza e per questo morir� a 22 anni, fucilato dopo inutili torture. Le figure dei due protagonisti nascondono una storia d'amore reale, riemersa solo oggi col ritrovamento di foto e lettere dei due giovani. Dietro a Mino si intravede Marco Dino Rossi, comandante partigiano "Fuoco", Medaglia d'Oro della Resistenza, oggi sepolto a Staglieno. Rina era la sua promessa sposa: al ritorno della pace aveva lavorato come bibliotecaria a Genova, tornando per lunghi periodi in Valle Argentina, fedele fino alla morte al suo fidanzato.
