Miswired, Not BrokenHow Trauma Shaped My Mind-and How Healing Changed It

Have you ever apologized for things that weren't your fault?

Replayed a conversation twelve times before breakfast?

Prepared for disasters that never happened?

Or found yourself checking your husband's location... while he's standing in the next room?

Welcome. Pull up a chair.

You're among friends here.

For years, I thought something was wrong with me. Life had finally become safe, but my mind never seemed to get the memo. I could spot a change in someone's tone from three counties away, apologize to furniture after bumping into it, and somehow turn a simple "Okay" text into a full-scale investigation.

Sound familiar?

In Miswired, Not Broken, I invite you into the pages of my own journey-one marked by abuse, fear, God's incredible faithfulness, and the slow, beautiful work of learning that survival responses aren't signs of weakness. They are signs that our minds learned how to keep us alive.

This isn't a book filled with clinical terms and complicated theories.

It's a conversation.

One friend talking to another.

One woman saying, "Me too."

With honesty, laughter, tears, and plenty of grace, we'll explore why our minds sometimes react to fires that have already gone out, why peace can feel strangely uncomfortable, and how healing often happens in quiet ways-in ordinary Tuesdays, grocery store aisles, and conversations around the kitchen table.

More than anything, this book is about hope.

Because healing doesn't mean becoming someone else.

It means slowly discovering that who you are underneath all the fear, overthinking, people-pleasing, and constant apologizing was never broken to begin with.

And through it all, you'll discover a God who never rushed the process, never walked away, and never asked you to heal perfectly before He loved you completely.

So, if you've ever wondered why safety still feels unfamiliar...

If you've ever been exhausted from carrying burdens no one else could see...

If you've ever whispered, "Why am I like this?"

Friend, this book was written with you in mind.

Put the coffee on.

We'll walk through it together.

One gentle step at a time.
