Preface dated 1890 which may well be date of this edition as adverts at back include 1889 childrens' annuals. 240+(6, pub.list with numerous ills.), green floral endpapers; Christian Evidence Society Library Rules on front pastedown + later owner's small gilt label at top, this society's faint oval stamp to facing endpaper and, quite clearly, to t.p., gathering p.147-p.158 nearly detached and outer margins of 147, 149 and 158 dust marked, otherwise internally clean, tight and apparently unmarked. Orange-red cloth covers have a few minor marks, small cloth nick top back edge, joints, spine ends and corners all very slightly rubbed and spine a little dull.
