Later reprint (first publsihed 1926). xii, 504 pages. Hardcover: H 22cm x L 14.5cm. Tan dust jacket; spine panel moderately browned with wear and shallow chipping at head; light wear along top edges of panels; slight chipping at flap fold ends with short tear at head of front flap fold; moisture stain along right third of front panel as well as most of front flap. Blue cloth with vibrant gilt stamped lettering and decoration upon spine; negligible bumping at spine ends; very faint evidence of dj's moisture stain on front board with only slight browning to the front pastedown and front free endpaper. Past bookseller's prices in red pencil at top left corner of rear pastedown. With Index. Text is divided into four sections titled as: "The Emergence of the State;" "Powers and Functions;" "Forms and Institutions;" and "Theories and Interpretations." A very good+ copy in a good+ dust jacket.
