Princess Em is concerned because she hasn't heard from her grandparents in a long time. They were supposed to send word when they reached the Royal Cabin in the Mountains, but that word has never come. Without telling her parents, the Princess heads out on her horse Buttercup, and the result is an epic adventure.

About the Author

Rick Abel grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where the nearest thing to adventure was a night of camping in a backyard tent. He wanted to give his two boys the experiences he'd never had, so took them on wilderness vacations when they were kids. He kept journals to document their time together -- writing nightly, by lantern light -- which serve as the source for the stories in the Buzz and The Little Guy series. Rick wrote "To The Moon And Back" for his granddaughter because he wants her to know that girls can go on adventures, too. It is his second published work.
