No date but this is believed to be a FIRST EDITION copy of 1881. 48 pages & 48 colour illustrations. The name, Ellen Beatrice Andrews' and date, 1881, shows on the illustrated half title page with a note in pencil beneath which reads: 'Sister of Gladys Andrews'. Green lattice cloth cover on a faded pink background and spine. Brown lettering on spine. Uspide down 'G' in title which shows on both front & rear boards. Engraved and printed by EDMUND EVANS. 'Contents of this Book' is shown on verso of ffep. The seal of Edmund Evans seal shows on recto of last free endpaper. The cloth cover, with some discolouration, and a few marks on side edge of front board, as seen in photo, has minor wear. Olive green endpapers which are complete without any splitting. The binding is loose with the stitching showing in several places. A few pages are partly free from the binding as shown in the image of the title page, and the last page, page 48, is completely free. The illustrations are bright, clean and without insciptions, having only light discoluration and a few marks in the margins around the illustrations.
