Green cloth with gilt letters on the spine, with white letters on the front cover and with a vignette in black white and yellow on the front cover of a mounted rider set against the backdrop of snow-covered mountains. Top edge gilt. Some wear to extremities with a couple of corners just barely rubbed through, gilt bright, some loss to white color on front cover, frontispiece fine with intact tissue guard, all other illustrations present and in fine condition, else very good to fine with ho internal markings. No dust jacket. Born in Grand Rapids, MI in 1873, Stewart Edward White was a writer who wrote fiction and non-fiction about adventure and travel, with an emphasis on natural history and outdoor living, as wells as travels in California. White died in Hillsborough, CA in 1946. This is a classic work on all aspects of the mountains of California. Seller Inventory # 007378
