MR. STRANGE: THE STORY OF A MAN BEYOND TIME

They called him strange long before they bothered to understand him.

When Mr Strange; a brilliant, unconventional teacher and quiet lover of peace, arrives in a small town, he asks for no throne, seeks no trouble, and attempts only to live, teach, and mind his business. Unfortunately, in a community where gossip travels faster than truth, minding one’s business is apparently a suspicious activity.

After helping David transform his mind, pass his examinations, and secure admission into the university, Mr Strange becomes the young man’s trusted friend and mentor. But David’s deeply religious family sees something else: the long hair, the beard, the unusual beliefs, and the dangerous habit of thinking for himself. Without evidence, they pronounce him a sinner, a threat, and a corrupting influence.

And when reality refuses to support their accusations, they decide to manufacture a more cooperative version of it.

Lies become rumours. Rumours become “facts.” Fabricated evidence threatens Mr Strange’s relationship, destroys his reputation, and costs him the career he loves. All of it is done by respectable people, naturally, because wickedness is apparently less offensive when it wears its finest Sunday clothes.

But Mr Strange is not an ordinary victim.

He watches. He remembers. He gathers the truth.

As David is forced to choose between his family and the man who transformed his life, and Lizzy begins to see beyond the scandal surrounding him, the town moves toward a public reckoning it never expected. Soon, the accusers will stand accused, hidden sins will demand daylight, and everyone will be forced to answer one devastating question:

Who is truly the sinner, the man they condemned, or the saints who became monsters just to prove themselves right?

Sharp, mysterious, romantic, philosophical, and wickedly irreverent, MR STRANGE: THE STORY OF A MAN BEYOND HIS TIME is a powerful story of love, prejudice, betrayal, redemption, religious hypocrisy, and the dangerous price of refusing to become what society demands.

This revised Second Edition presents Knight Fredel’s compelling social satire in its refined and definitive form, a novel about what happens when a town mistakes light for darkness and discovers, rather inconveniently, that truth also keeps records.

Mr Strange was never beyond humanity.

Humanity was simply behind him.
