Reviews
Grade 6 Up?Macros are recorded instructions set within computer programming software to be inserted or used whenever needed. They are used to save time and are especially helpful to automating routine tasks. Edge offers step-by-step directions, with charts and diagrams, to explain how to create macros. She describes how to set them up on the keyboard, the toolbar, as well as from the menu bar, and how to record and run them. There are even instructions for how to find a bug in your macros. Such projects as party invitations, homework-planning charts, baseball-card collections, gift certificates, batting averages, business cards, and thank-you notes are included. The instructions are clear but these activities are not simple, and will take some understanding and persistence. Also, the WordPerfect volume is a daunting size for most children. Both books will require a thorough knowledge of Windows, and either Word or WordPerfect. While the tables of contents are extensive, there are no indexes. Kids and adults with advanced computer skills will definitely find these titles useful.?Marion F. Gallivan, Gannon University, Erie, PA
