All About Me

Bold full-color photo illustrations and simple text explore what toddlers can do with their bodies, from Elliot who catches a bubble in his hands to Kelly who balances on tip-toe, in a perfect book for reading aloud.

Toddlers seem to possess a neverending fascination with images of their contemporaries; here, they can relish the antics of a particularly photogenic cast of characters. Styled after the now-familiar manner of Dorling Kindersley (crisp photos against abundant white space), this chipper collaboration catalogues various body parts while asking simple, interactive questions: "Can you stretch forward and touch your feet?"; "What else can you do with your hands?" As in her earlier photographic chronicles, Sieveking demonstrates a particular affinity for posing and shooting fledgling models: kids will be hard-pressed to pick favorites from this winsome, multiracial assemblage. A few instructional examples are presented also, as Ann wields her toothbrush ("Teeth need cleaning too"), and tub-dwellers Mark and Kelly explore the joys of suds. Gray's Anatomy for beginners, and a lot more fun. Ages 2-5.
