Item description from seller

One of the most famous "Ruritanian romances" of the earliest 20th century & Burroughs' only contribution to this "swashbuckling adventure" genre, set in the fictional country of Lutha. Orig. serialized as two stories in the pulp "All-Story Weekly" in 1914/15, then in book form by A. C. McClurg in 1926, this is the First Grosset & Dunlap reprint, in 365 pages with a glossy Frontispiece by J. Allen St. John + 10 pages of ads for publisher's other titles in rear. Small 8vo has red cloth-covered boards, lettered in black to front & spine. Condition is Good: generally quite clean with the random spot or smudge, binding strong & straight, pages moderately tanned, heavier to edges, completely unmarked save for 2 names in pen across front endpapers. Exterior shows darkening, soil, rubbing to extremities, & mild bumping/fraying to corners & spine tips. No DJ (missing). Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand. Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Pacific time (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
