The inside (true) story of being falsely accused....and surviving.

On the basis of undisclosed ‘intelligence’, four police officers knock on the author's door one February morning, arrest the author and confiscate his computer equipment (containing his life’s work). Three years later (and two weeks before a trial was scheduled), the case is dropped in a Crown Court in the UK.

No apology was received, no explanation was given; access to the ‘intelligence’ that triggered the arrest was denied and his computer hard drives had been destroyed. The author had been re-bailed by the police over fourteen times during nearly two and a half years before being suddenly charged. All of it based on a lie.

Mad As Hell (Part One) is this story, his story: 899 days on bail, a lost income, fractured mental health and a wholesale disbelief at how life was turning out. But all was not lost…because he quietly began work on establishing the source of the his legal troubles and the source of the police’s ‘intelligence’ - a disgruntled, criminal girlfriend of a former housemate. 

MAD AS HELL – the non-fiction story of a white-collar professional man on police bail for three years. Arrested on information never shared, subject to an inept police investigation that violated its own Codes of Practice, it is a story of a type of modern-day madness. Both compelling and horrifying, the author concludes with his ‘final thoughts’ and advice for the reader in case s/he should ever find him/herself in a similar situation.
