The Madam & Mr. MacLean (Matchmaker Mischief)

A charming historical western romance where a prim spinster inherits a brothel and the rancher who mistakes her for one of the girls has a lot of making up to do.

She doesn't know anything about men. He thinks he knows exactly what she is. They're both wrong.

Prim and proper Sheridan DuBois arrives in Serenity, New Mexico, to claim the inheritance from the mother she was told died giving birth to her. What she finds is a shock: the house is one of ill-repute, and the whole town knows exactly who she is-even if she doesn't.

Sheltered and taught to distrust men, Sheridan is stunned, intrigued, and suddenly curious about the mother she was denied, the women who work in the brothel, and the life waiting for her if she stays. But she's determined to sell the house and return to the only world she knows.

Wyatt MacLean isn't looking for love-not after being left at the altar. But loneliness has him seeking companionship, and the town's mischievous matchmaker points him toward the brothel. When he mistakes Sheridan for one of the girls, he couldn't be more wrong. And she's not about to let him forget it.

As Sheridan grows comfortable in her new surroundings, threats emerge-from the town and from the life she left behind. Now she must decide: flee to safety, or stand her ground with the man who's proving he might be worth the risk.

Warm, witty, and utterly romantic-The Madam & Mr. MacLean is a western historical romance for readers who love unexpected inheritances, second chances, and heroines who bloom where they're planted.

Marie Patrick has always had a love affair with words and books but it wasn't until a trip to Arizona, where she now makes her home with her husband, that she became inspired to write about the sometimes desolate, yet beautiful west. Her inspiration doesn't just come from the Wild West though. It comes from history itself. She is fascinated with pirates and men in uniform and lawmen with shiny badges. When not writing or researching her favorite topics, she can usually be found curled up with a good book. Marie loves to hear from her readers.
