Item description from seller

Hardback. Foxing to end inside covers and edge. Orange cloth with black lettering. It is not only the child who derives delight from a working toy or finds interest in the arragement and the building up of the models; it is the exerxise of the craftmanship and the ingenuity called for in actually making them that brings an absorbing interest. The examples selected for description in these pages have been chosen mainly beacuse they can be made with simple equipment and call for little expenditure in material. A large number can be made from odds and ends of waste material by anyone who can use a few simple tools. over eighty separate toys or models are illustrated in the diagrams, and many suggestions for additional toys are to be found in the photographics paltes. In these restricted days, when toys are not plentiful, the author hopes that the suggestions given in these pages will supply an undoubted demand for instruction in simple toy and model making, and provide a highly interesting occupation for leisure hours, especially for your people and budding crafstmen, young and old, who delight in making things. Illustrated. 120 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
