Artificial intelligence is everywhere. Understanding it shouldn't require a computer-science degree.
AI Made Simple is a practical, plain-English guide for anyone who wants to understand artificial intelligence without becoming a programmer, data scientist, or AI engineer.
John Binks takes the terminology that can make AI sound complicated and explains it in clear, approachable language. You'll learn how artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, generative AI, large language models, AI assistants, and AI agents fit together, what makes them different, and why those differences matter.
Whether you use ChatGPT at work, hear AI discussed in meetings, manage people who are adopting AI, evaluate new technology for an organization, or simply want to understand where AI is headed, this book gives you the foundation to participate confidently in the conversation.
AI Made Simple does not tell you that AI will solve everything, and it does not bury you in technical jargon. Instead, it gives you a practical mental model for understanding what AI is, what it can do, where it can fail, and how to evaluate it more carefully.
You'll learn how to ask better questions, recognize weak claims, verify important information, protect sensitive data, and decide when AI should assist people rather than replace their judgment. You'll also learn why using AI effectively is not just about writing better prompts. It is about understanding the information available to the system, the tools it can access, the consequences of an error, and the role human oversight should play.
The goal is not to turn you into an AI engineer. It is to help you become informed enough to understand the technology, use it responsibly, challenge exaggerated claims, recognize limitations, and participate confidently in decisions about how AI should be used at work and in everyday life.
No programming. No equations. No computer-science degree required.
You don't need to become an AI expert.
You need to become AI literate.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
