Madonna: An Intimate Biography of An Icon at Sixty

“Madonna – An Intimate Biography” by J. Randy Taraborrelli is the first truly explosive account of the life of an entertainer who is, undoubtedly, one of the most popular, trend-setting figures in pop culture today. It is Taraborrelli’s biggest-selling book, translated into twelve different languages, a best-seller for many months in both hardcover and paperback (in the United States and abroad). Fifty-one-year-old Madonna Ciccone Ritchie has revealed herself as an accomplished singer, dancer and – as she proved in the film, “Evita” – an actress of depth and compassion. Obviously, she is an extremely creative artist, both in presentation of her act and image. However, this full-scale work by master storyteller, Taraborrelli, focuses on her private life and affairs … on what really makes Madonna “tick.”

Whereas other books about Madonna have been based on previously published material, J. Randy Taraborrelli’s work is the result of ten years of research, including exclusive interviews with people who have never before dared to speak of her: close friends, business associates, and even family members, like Madonna’s father, Silvio. These interviews were conducted by the author himself, as well as a team of private investigators who combed the planet in search of true stories – not gossip – about Madonna. The author has also, on numerous occasions, interviewed Madonna and drew from those many, first-hand experiences for his book about her.

People have been talking about Madonna for the last fifteen years. Now, for the first time — with the publication of J. Randy Taraborrelli’s book, “Madonna – An Intimate Biography” — they will understand her.
