The complete 12-issue run from January through December of 1953, of the world's best sf magazine. This lot contains fiction by many of the genre's top names, including Fritz Leiber, John Wyndham, Philip K. Dick, Zenna Henderson, Richard Matheson, Robert Sheckley, Chad Oliver, J.T. M'Intosh, John D. MacDonald (ok, ok, he's not generally associated with the sf/fantasy genre, but if you're gonna argue that he's not a top name, I'm sending a coupla guys over to your house to check out the state of your kneecaps), Ward Moore, Isaac Asimov, Leslie Charteris (see John D. MacDonald comment, above), Alfred Bester, Idris Seabright, Fredric Brown, Lord Dunsany, L. Sprague de Camp, Fletcher Pratt, Raymond Chandler (ever hear of John D. MacDonald or Leslie Charteris?), Poul Anderson, Theodore Sturgeon, Clifford D. Simak, Arthur Porges, Robert Moore Williams, and many others. Four cover illustrations by Ed Emshwiller (Emsh) , three by Jack Coggins, two by George Gibbons, and one each from Mel Hunter, Alex Schomburg, and Chesley Bonestell. All 12 issues have small circles beside titles on contents page (probably a previous owner's marks to indicate that he/she read the story indicated), moderate handling wear, the usual tanning, moderately chipped spine ends, and moderate handling wear. Individually, there are several creases to right side of front cover of October issue, and a large masking-tape repair to bottom right corner of back cover/bottom spine/bottom left corner of front cover of the December issue.
